Join InCommon - Sponsored Partners
To join InCommon, Sponsored Partners provide a sponsorship letter (which actually comes from the InCommon exec at the higher ed or research organization serving as the sponsor), documentation of annual revenue, and a signed participation agreement.
Sign the Participation Agreement
InCommon uses Docusign to electronically sign agreements and streamline the joining process. Use this link to sign the InCommon Participation Agreement. There is a downloadable hard copy of the agreement for review purposes, but not for signing.
If you have any questions about the agreement or this process, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Send Us Two Documents
- Documentation of annual revenue - This could be:
- the revenue page from your most recent annual report (preferred)
- a page from an audit
- a statement on company letterhead attesting to the annual revenue
- Sponsor Letter - Have your sponsor (the InCommon Executive from a current InCommon higher education institution or research organization) send the sponsorship letter (email is fine).

Sample Sponsorship Letter #2
SAMPLE University entered into a business relationship with PARTNER in 2007 to use their web-based resource to support individualized instruction in IT topics to faculty, staff, and students. We want to use our identity management system to leverage their product. In addition, we are currently engaged in a project with PARTNER that will allow our students to access digital versions of textbooks published by PARTNER in a way that leverages our identity management system. For both of these products we want to be able to provide access either directly by end users or via our course management systems. In order to accomplish our goals with both of these services, we would like to sponsor PARTNER to join InCommon.

Each participant in the InCommon Federation pays a one-time registration fee and also an annual fee. See the details on the fees page.
The rest of the joining process is the same as that for a higher education institution, starting with #3 on the Join page.
